Coleslaw is a traditional Dutch cuisine. The name is derived from the term 'koolsla' which simply means cabbage salad. Raisin Coleslaw is a salad dish consisting of shredded cabbage, carrots, raisins and other vegetables mixed with mayonnaise. If you've never tried it before, you may be a little bit unsure about adding raisins, but the inclusion of raisins in your coleslaw gives it a sweetened and flavoursome taste.

Serve Raisin Coleslaw as a side for rice and pasta dishes, chicken, barbecue ribs, or eat on its own.
Gather all your ingredients and tools.
The first step is, to begin with, the dressing. In a large bowl, add the mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar then mix them together. If you're someone who doesn't like their coleslaw heavy with mayonnaise or doesn't like too much mayonnaise in general, you might not want to use up the 1 cup of mayonnaise. Add to your preference. After mixing thoroughly, add in the raisins then set aside.
Wash your carrots and scrape them thoroughly. You can either use a food processor or a grater for the carrots. Both options are super easy and fast. The same thing applies to when you're shredding your cabbage. You can shred it by hand if that's your preference. Whichever one you choose to go with works very fine.
Rinse your shredded cabbage then leave to dry for some minutes. Add your cabbage and carrots into the bowl of the dressing and then give it a good mix.
Cover it and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving. You can also make this the day before, it tastes even better. Enjoy this creamy goodness. Learn more about Nigerian Vegtable Salad this season
