Cancer is one of the deadliest ailments in the world. According to the World Health Organization, cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world. And about 9.6 million people died of this deadly disease in 2018. Trust me, cancer is more dangerous than you think. But in this article, I will share with you some simple lifestyles to help you avoid cancer.
Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the simple lifestyles to help you avoid cancer. Surprisingly, studies already established a link between body weight and cancer risk. According to research, excess body fats make you prone to several cancers, including colorectal, postmenopausal breast, uterine, esophageal, kidney, and pancreatic cancers.
However, there’s little or no information on how excess fat can lead to cancers. But scientists believe that Inflammation triggered by visceral fats (fats around vital organs) could cause cancer.
When there are excess fats around your vital organs, it affects the functionality of your body. And when this happens, your body can’t manage vital hormones like Insulin and estrogen. This makes you vulnerable to several types of cancers.
So, if you pay attention closely to your weight and eat fewer carbs and junk foods, you may be less vulnerable to cancer.
Physical exercises can help prevent several health conditions, including cancer. When you exercise for at least 30 minutes every day, you will burn some of your visceral fats. And this will help your body regulate its hormone level because when certain hormones are too much in your body, it places you at risk of cancer.
Again, when you exercise regularly, your food will digest quickly. Of course, this prevents substances that are harmful to spend less time in your colon.
Additionally, active engagement in physical exercises isn’t enough. You should sit less because extended periods of sitting could make you prone to cancer over time.

Don’t get me wrong, taking energy dense-food is excellent for your body. But when it becomes too much, it could exceed your healthy calorie budget. And when this happens, you will be prone to several types of cancers.
So, avoid foods like biscuits, cheese, butter, peanuts, crisps, confectionery, etc. All these foods are unhealthy when they are too much. Instead, take more fruits, cruciferous vegetables, etc.
Limiting your alcohol intake is among the simple lifestyles to help you avoid cancer.
If you are a heavy drinker, you are at risk of cancer in the following parts of your body;
Liver: The liver helps to filter blood and toxin from your body. And heavy drinking is toxic to your liver cell. It can inflame and scar your liver, leading to cancer of the liver. According to studies, heavy drinkers are more prone to cancer of the liver.
Mouth and Throat: According to studies, people who drink too much alcohol are five times more likely to get cancer of the mouth and throat than people who don’t drink much. Excessive alcohol could damage the cells in your mouth and throat tissues.
Esophagus: You could trigger esophageal cancer if you drink too much alcohol. Trust me, it’s one of the deadliest and most aggressive kinds of cancer.
However, you can avoid these cancers by simply limiting the level of alcohol you take into your body.
One of the simple lifestyles to help you avoid cancer is to limit the consumption of red meat. Ordinarily, red meat like beef, lamb, pork, etc., is rich in protein, minerals, and vitamins. And they are an essential part of a balanced diet.
However, consuming excess red and processed meat will increase your risk of bowel cancer. So, it’s essential to limit your red meat consumption; it could help you avoid cancer.
