Tips To Keep You Motivated If You Hate Exercising

It can be exhausting and tedious doing the same routines every odd day. Sometimes, you don’t even feel like exercising. If you had ever lost motivation for your workouts before you even started, you’d understand. We all need that extra push sometimes, so here are seven ways to have fun while exercising.

1. Dance.

No rule book says you cannot have a good time while exercising. If you prefer a lighthearted way to keep fit, dancing is the best alternative for you. The best part is that there is a style for everyone – African, salsa, western, hip-hop, ballroom, or even belly dancing. Some dance incorporated workouts like Zumba and Capoeira, are becoming popular.

2. Get an exercise partner.

Exercising with a gym partner can be fun, especially if you are competitive. It keeps things fun and motivates you, especially if you are the type that always fins excuses not to work out.

3. Switch things up.

Doing the same routines every day can make exercises really boring. Spice things up and remain motivated by changing your routines. Switching your routines can also stop you from hitting a weight loss plateau.

4. Pump up the music volume.

Exercising in silence can make it dreary. You can play some of your favourite upbeat songs to get you in the zone. These songs give you an adrenaline rush and help you push through killer workouts. For some exercises like skipping, jumping jacks, or running, you can move to the beats.

5. Try watching exercise videos.

Some people prefer to exercise from the privacy of their homes. For an extra boost of motivation, you can watch exercise videos while you workout. There are a ton of those to choose from.

6. Go outside.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t go to the gym, or if you’re a runner, walker, biker, taking your workouts outside can be a nice change of scenery. Find somewhere fun with plenty of sights and sounds to go for a run, bike ride, or swim.

7. Reward yourself.

Achieving your fitness goals is the greatest reward you can get. However, you can make exercise more fun by rewarding yourself for the time spent exercising. For example, you can tip yourself money for every workout you complete or and use the money saved to treat yourself to a meal or clothing item. The reward will keep you motivated towards achieving the next fitness goal.

Keep these tips in mind the next time you catch yourself making excuses for not working out. Be motivated and have fun while exercising. How do you make exercises more fun? Share your thoughts and comments with us below!
